For DIT MSc students who have completed the Data mining or Machine Learning modules SAS Ireland have kindly offered to make the "SAS Certified Predictive Modeler using SAS Enterprise Miner 7 Credential" exam available free of charge. The exam takes the form of a series of multiple choice questions that are answered by creating and modifying projects in SAS Enterprise Miner. The exam takes three hours and the pass mark is 70%. About half of the students who have taken the exam in the past have passed it and been awarded the certification.
While SAS make the exam available for free, students are required to make a €25 donation to charity in order to access the exam, so as to discourage people from signing up but not actually showing up (SAS Ireland have to pay a fee for each student who signs up for the exam).
The exam will most likely take place on Friday the 8th of March from 16:00 - 19:00. If you would like to take the exam please email Brian.MacNamee@dit.ie with the subject heading "SAS Exam" before 23:00 on Tuesday 12th February to indicate this.
