FAO Programming for Big Data Class

The Programming for Big Data class from tomorrow for the next 4 weeks will be doing Hadoop programming.    The Hadoop programming will be done on a Ubuntu virtual machine within VirtualBox, a free virtualisation product that can run on Mac or Windows.  If you want to take a copy of the VM home you need to bring a USB key with you.   The key we recommend is the Transcend 700 series 16GB - it is available at RightClick, 70 Lower Camden Street and costs €20. This key has fast I/O access and you can run the VM from the key.

The class will be in Lab KA-1-015.
