WAM Event Assistive Technology 10th February

There is a WAM event on Assistive Technology on Tuesday next 10th February, hosted by Dell Cherrywood.

This event is a debate on arguments for and against the proposition “Does One Size Fit All? - Assistive technology in the learning environment and at work”
The event will aim to
  • Examine of the myths and assumptions that assistive technology is effective in all environments
  • Deepen the understanding around the stigmas for students with disabilities (learners) when transitioning from college to work
  • Provide a check-list that will enable relevant staff and learners get the assistive technology right when moving into professional work
  • Improve the quality of engagement between student support services/ faculty and the learner with a disability as they plan for job hunting 
Guest speakers include James Northridge (UrAbility), Ger Craddock (National Disability Authority), Siobhan Long (Enable Ireland) and Trevor Boland (DIT). Tuesday 10th February @ Dell Ireland, Cherrywood, Dublin 10am – 1.30pm with lunch provided.
