Access to DIT network from outside DIT network (VPN) ---------------------------------------------------- - go to ditnet.dit.ie - there is an instructional video at http://www.dit.ie/computing/studentresources/vpnaccess/ - this is a direct link to the login page - https://ditnet.dit.ie/dana-na/auth/url_default/welcome.cgi Access to GIS server (needs VPN) -------------------------------- - From a computer running Windows 7: - Start->All Programs->Accessories->Remote Desktop Connection - Server URL is cork.ict.ad.dit.ie - if you expand this dialog box you can save a profile containing the server URL, your Log In and the domain (ICTDOMAIN) Access to material on Webcourses (doesn't need VPN) --------------------------------------------------- - https://idp.dit.ie/idp/Authn/UserPassword or - http://www.dit.ie/webcourses If you forget your password --------------------------- - go to mypassword.dit.ie - you need to register for this to use it Access to ESRI Virtual Campus (Online GIS course) ------------------------------------------------- - go to training.esri.com - go to "My Training"->"Create new account" - follow instructions to create "ESRI Global Account" - IMPORTANT: Use your DIT UserId as your ESRI ID. - IMPORTANT: Use your DIT email address - These are important so that I can track your progress and allocate marks. It's IN YOUR INTEREST to get this right. - to access ESRI course material - go to "My Training"->"Login"->"My Virtual Campus Training". - under "Start a New Web Course" enter the code that I gave you to activate the module. Press "GO", ENTER will not work. - "Learning ArcGIS Desktop (for ArcGIS 10)" should appear on your "Courses In Progress" list.

In order to get technical support of any kind including password resets you need to email support@dit.ie or

Please use your DIT student email address where possible and include School of Computing in the detail
of the email so that your request can be channeled to the correct technicians.
Please make sure you check your DIT student email on a regular basis from this point on since it is the main channel of communication for examination information.

Through Dublinked Dublin City Council and Fingal, Dun Laoghaire/Rathdown and South Dublin County Councils are making their public sector data available to the business community to facilitate data driven innovation in products and services.
