BioSimulytics Limited is a new spin-out company founded in 2019 from the School of Chemical & Bioprocess Engineering of University College Dublin (UCD) in Ireland and winner of the UCD Venture Launch competition. The company is specialising in the deployment of Artificial Intelligence (AI) using advanced neural network technology, combined with molecular modelling, quantum physics and high-performance computing (HPC), for the digitisation of next-generation drug development in the pharma/biotech sector. The company’s offices are located at NovaUCD on the UCD Belfield campus. The company is now expanding and is keen to offer an internship opportunity for a suitable Masters student in Computer Science to work on software product development. The key tasks of the internship are as follows:
• Software validation and integrity checking, i.e. code testing / test suites, error checking
• Version control (Git)
• Software documentation
• Technical writing
The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for coding, excellent written communications skills and a keen eye for quality assurance and attention-to-detail, and will enjoy working as part of a small team in a young dynamic start-up environment. The internship is expected to run during the Summer of 2021 (May-August 2021, but start- and end-dates are flexible) with a view to discussing longer term opportunities following a successful internship. Remuneration for the period of the internship will be competitive and will be discussed in detail with the successful candidate.
